Here's How a Race Committee Keeps Score

Captain Dancing Bear
Ray Rosenburg, at the rail, tracks the racers when they cross the finish line, and blows a whistle when each crosses. Yvonne Brandt (red cap) tracks the finish time and calls out the exact time when Ray signals a crossing.

Nancy (white cap) and Sheri Heard, (no hat) are marking down each racer's finish time. Nancy and Sheri's job is to figure out the boat name and/or number as it approaches the finish line so they can record the finish time for the correct boat. They share the same job to insure there's a double check in the process.

When there's a close finish between multiple boats it gets a bit hairy to insure accuracy. Ray is ONLY watching for a crossing, Yvonne is ONLY watching the time, and Nancy and Sheri are ONLY looking for the correct boat name and number to match to for the time that Yvonne has called out based on Ray's whistle signal.

Principal Race Officer Ed Brandt enters the race results into the computer. The location is the pilot house of Dancing Bear.
