Bob Andreini

Rear Commodore

The Rear Commodore is responsible for the On The Water activities for the Club

Bob hails from Chicago, IL where he spent most of his life power boating on Lake Michigan and the mighty Mississippi River, having obtained his boat safety permit at the age of 14. 

However, it wasn't until summer of 2020 that a good friend invited Bob and his wife Michelle to a BVI sailing trip.  Prior to going, they decided to take a basic keel board sailing class and it was an instant conversion from power boating to sail boating!  Over the next few months, Bob received his ASA certifications for coastal cruising and bareboat chartering and by the fall of 2020, chartered his first cruising sailboat - a Hunter 36 out of Burnt Store Marina. 

In July 2021, Bob and Michelle purchased their first sailboat - a Catalina Morgan 381 Center Cockpit true cruising boat.  Over the past 2 years, Bob and Michelle have cruised from the 10,000 islands, Marco, Naples, Ft. Myers Beach, Cayo Costa, and all of Charlotte Harbor. 

Having upgraded the electronics on their boat with a new chart plotter, AIS and Radar, they plan to make overnight passages up to Tampa and south to Marathon and the Dry Tortugas. 

Having developed a true passion for sailing, Bob loves working with the crew and members of the Gulf Coast Sailing Club and looks forward to seeing all of you On The Water!

Doug Foss

Treasurer

Doug Foss has a great love for sailing and boating. He has lived in Marco Island for the past three years and currently sails a Compac Legacy. He also spent many years sailing a Westerly Tiger on Lake Michigan. He has two grandsons 8 and 6 and hopes that they will also learn to love sailing.

Doug is a CPA and has over 35 years of accounting / auditing experience and served as a Vice President of Internal Audit for over ten years for a large manufacturing company. Doug joined the Gulf Coast Sailing Club in 2021 and has volunteered to be the Treasurer.
